Title: Systems Analyst - Database and Administration
Information Technology Department
Applications are invited from nationals of Trinidad and Tobago to fill the position of Systems Analyst - Database and Administration in our Information Technology Department.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Systems Anaylst - Database and Administration will be responsible for the administration, testing, implementing and maintenance of database driven enterprise applications. The incumbent will be responsible for analysing, understanding business processes and designing IT solutions that improve effeciency and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsibility for designing, documenting and proposing innovative solutions that meet stakeholders' business requirements.
- Oversees the testing, implementation and upgrade of technology systems.
- Responsible for proper planning and conduct of work within the timeframes and resources prescribed.
- Responsible for the Corporation's Enterprise Systems such as Financial and Time & Attendance and other Enterprise Systems as may be required.
- Performs ongoing routine, predictive, corrective, adaptive and perfective maintenance on Enterprise Systems.
- Manages application security controls to protect data against unauthorized access or damage.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for assigned systems, providing specialized user support for any issues or requests received through the help desk.
- Develops administrative and end user documentation for software and performs training as required.
- Works with team members and vendors to perform enhancements, integrations and custom report development on existing systems as required.
- Perform any other related duties as may be required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science; Information Technology; Software Engineering; Data Science or an equivalent Degree.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years' experience managing enterprise applications.
Certification and Licences:
- Database related designations such as MCSA; SQL or equivalent would be an asset.
- Valid Driver's Permit.
- Certificate of Character dated within the last six months.
Required Testing:
The successful candidate will be required to undergo the following:
- A full Medical Examination (inclusive of substance testing) to establish fitness for the position.
- May be required to undergo a Psychometric Assessment.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge and experience with working with Business Intelligence tools would be an asset.
Skills:
- Strong time managment skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
Abilities:
- Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses or alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to understand complete business processes and their relationships with enterprise systems.

- High level of adaptability with a willingness to learn new and emerging technologies within the industry.
- High level of integrity with the ability to exercise an appropriate level of judgement and maturity to handle confidential matters.
