The Point Lisas Industrial Estate is the heart of Trindad and Tobago's petrochemical sector. The Estate is a world-class facility, covering 860 hectares and representing an investment of over US $2 billion by incoming Companies.
Today, the Estate is home to 103 companies involved in a range of activities. The petrochemical sector is dominant, however, with many big name production plants operating on the estate. Ease of access to vast resources of natural gas has been a strong incentive for some of the world's leading manufacturers of ammonia, urea, methanol, other petrochemicals and steel.
As landlord of the Estate, PLIPDECO provides the basic infrastructure, such as roads and drainage, whilst individual service companies provide the various amenities.
